Mia stretched and looked around for Caiden. Sitting up, she noticed that his clothes were gone and so were his boots. A slight frown formed on her lips and she flopped back down on the bed. Her thoughts drifted to last night and their lovemaking and she flipped her frown around.

Then she remembered the women and wondered if they’d captured the traffickers last night. She got up and dressed quickly, grimacing as she realized she needed to pick up some clean clothes. Caiden was going to need to let her go back to her place today and pack some clothes and that was that.

She used the bathroom and brushed her teeth with her finger and rinsed several times with water. And she needed a toothbrush and a hairbrush and her makeup. Good gravy she was ill prepared for being here at all.

She padded across the room to the adjoining door and knocked on it. Creed responded, “Come on in Mia.”

She opened the door and stepped into the room, quickly assessing that Caiden wasn’t there.

“Where did he go?”

“Actually he went to your apartment building. He’s meeting Piper there.” Creed pointed to his computer.

She stepped up to see his screen and Creed indicated green dots. “These are the phones of the men we’re tracking. This one...” he pointed to one of them, “is near your apartment building.” Creed enlarged the map so she could see the location clearly. Her stomach twisted and threatened to lose its meager contents. She sat weak-kneed at the foot of the bed behind Creed and he moved over just a bit so she could see clearly.

“We don’t know who it is, since there are three of them to watch, but Piper is going into the building wearing her dark wig so whoever is watching will think it’s you. She’ll be ready and as soon as the dot starts moving I’ll let them know.” He held up his comm unit microphone.

Creed plugged one end of the comm unit into his computer. “You’ll be able to hear them now.”

Caiden’s voice came through. “Okay, Piper is entering the building at the front.”

“Roger.”

Piper then responded, “I’m in the lobby. I’m first going to walk to the bank of mailboxes, then I’ll stand at the elevator. What floor is Mia on?”

“Third floor.” Caiden answered.

“Roger.”

There was silence for a few minutes then the green dot outside the building began moving toward the door.

“The phone is on the move toward the building Pipes.”

“Roger. I’m now walking to the elevator.”

“They’re crossing the street.”

“Roger.”

“The target is now walking into the building.”

“Roger. I’m just stepping onto the elevator. I see a man entering the building. I’m closing the doors.”

A moment of silence then Piper said, “He saw me and started walking quickly to the elevator, but I got the doors closed first. I’ll wait just around the corner from the elevator when I get off.”

Caiden then responded. “Pipes give me some description, I’m coming into the building now.”

“Fatigues. Army boots. Green sweatshirt. Not Dildo.”

Creed sat back a bit frustrated that it wasn’t Dildo.
